Fall Programs
Program Overview
Lacey Youth Football & Cheer (LYFC) offers a full range of football and cheer programs built around structure, consistency, and long-term athlete development. Our goal is simple: provide children the opportunity to participate in football and cheer within an organization that is run professionally, coached responsibly, and committed to improving every year.
LYFC programs are designed to give families confidence that their children are participating in something that is organized, intentional, and well supported.
FOOTBALL
Little Lions (Age 4 ONLY)
structured introduction to organized athletics. program focuses:
- Fundamental movement and coordination
- Learning to participate in a group setting
- Introduction to football concepts through instruction and activity
- Creating a positive first sports experience
Flag (Ages 5 & 6 - as of July 1st)
introduces the game of football without contact, allowing athletes to:
- Learn ball skills and basic football concepts
- Understand spacing, teamwork, and game flow
- Develop confidence before transitioning to tackle football
Tackle (Instructional - Ages 7U & 8U - as of July 1st)
These divisions emphasize:
- Proper technique and fundamentals
- Learning positions and responsibilities
- Safe introduction to contact
- Building a foundation for future competitive play
Tackle (Competitive - Ages 9U-14U (as of July 1st, No HS)
At the competitive levels, athletes are introduced to:
- Advanced skill development and football strategy
- Structured practices and team systems
- Higher levels of competition and accountability
CHEER

Flag Cheer introduces young athletes to cheer fundamentals, focusing on:
- Basic motions and routines
- Team participation and performance comfort
- Supporting football teams in a structured setting
Sideline Cheer (Ages 7-14)
Sideline cheerleaders are an essential part of the LYFC game-day experience. Athletes learn:
- Cheer technique and crowd engagement
- Team responsibility and consistency
- Representing the organization with pride
Competition Cheer (Ages 7-14)
Competition Cheer provides athletes the opportunity to participate in a higher-commitment program, focusing on:
- Choreographed routines and skill progression
- Team discipline and preparation
- Representing LYFC in competitive settings
